Welcome Home Daddy
I come home my daughter Elizabeth stands on the garden path, dress and hands covered in blood.
A large kitchen knife held in one small hand. Droplets of blood splash to the floor like crimson tears.
“Welcome home Daddy. Mummy is waiting for you upstairs,” she grins up at me.

The March
I march along the road it stretches before me like a blacken snake. I have walked for miles and I have many more to go.
My trainers are beginning to wear out, one sole flip flopping as I march along.
I’m exhausted but I can’t stop, I must carry on.
Autopsy Blues
Senses awake but no movement.
I feel cold metal against my naked skin.
A stern face appears before me, scalpel catching the light from overhead lamp.
I try to scream but no sound utters from my lips.
I’m not dead I try to say as the scalpel moves towards me.
The House on the Corner
The old house stood on the corner of the once grand street. The house and street now neglected by the passage of time.
The house a once proud building full of laughter now lies silent.
Evil lays in wait within its dank and cold walls, hungry for its next victims.
The Mummy
I’ve been lying here for eternity my body covered in bandages and sacred charms.
My internal organs lay in clay jars among my other treasured processions.
The darkness and silence are so profound.
The world outside has changed but not I.
I lie in this silent tomb and await discovery.

Thanks Dan. Always good to get some feedback. You're right about 'The March.' This was inspired by 'The Long Walk' by Stephen King. Read it recently and thought it was great. I'd never heard of it before until recently. Although it's under his pseudonym Richard Bachman I've heard of the other stories like 'Thinner' and 'The Running Man' but not this one. Someone made a video about it recently so decided to check it out and glad I did. Don't know why it hasn't been made into a movie or mini series as it would make a huge impact and could be a commentary on fame, wealth, life death and what makes us human.
I love little mini horror stories.
