Thanks for putting this together, Jason. This is one of my favorite horror franchises. There's something loveably goofy about JV that makes him hard not to adore. His desire to kill is so senseless and without purpose it's borderline comical. One of my favorites is Jason Takes Manhattan. God, it's awfully good or maybe just awful...IDK!

Thanks for the comment Michael- glad you enjoyed it. Jason Takes Manhattan is a fun one. Apparently they had the budget slashed so that's why only the last bit is in Manhattan and most of the action takes place on the ship instead.

You'll probally find out it's just the scene in Times Sq and the rest was done in Vancouver. Have to check this out now LOL.

On point 2 both characters are motivated by revenge. Paramount are planning to do a series based on Pam and Jason Voorhees 's early life so that will be interesting.

I think the first point as I mentioned in the essay Halloween set up the template and Friday 13th added more blood and gore. Because of the high profit margins and the audience wanting more blood and t and a - this became the template other movies would use. What are your views?
